Summary: R-Forge goes 64bit on Windows
Project: R-Forge Site Admin

Content:

Long promised and now implemented: R-Forge supports building of Windows multi-arch (32+64bit) binaries. Please check the log files generated for your packages in the 'R packages' tab of your projects. Note also that since today we only support R version 2.12 and above.

Summary of changes and updates to the R-Forge system:

- New Windows build machine (named xmhera) now online. Specs: 6 core Intel Xeon 2.67GHz, 8GB RAM, 150GB of fast disk space reserved for R-Forge.
- On Windows we swtiched from Miktex to texlive 2010 and updated third party libs based on a list of software packages and libraries employed on CRAN winbuilder.
- RForgeTools updated to 0.4-7: R CMD
-- enabled 64bit Windows support
-- Calling shell() on Windows now with argument 'shell="cmd"'

Best regards,
The R-Forge Administration and Development Team
