| R-forge is quite helpful. One problem I and other people have had, however, is that packages are built/checked only daily. This makes it slow to debug an issue on a platform we don't have ready access to. If my package works on a Mac, but there's a problem with the Windows build, I can make a change, wait a day, if it doesn't work make another change, etc. Perhaps there could be an option for a developer to click a "build now" button for a particular platform to allow this. I can't imagine it would increase the load too much, as most developers won't be clicking that button frequently, only when debugging a package. |
