If the observation times are sent in descending order, the clust() routine finds only the overall maximum. It would be a good idea to do one of the following: (1) test for data order and return an error if not sorted ascending, (2) sort data when necessary, or (3) notify the user of the requirement that data be sorted in the clust() documentation.
